FOI 00476 - Polfed Official's pensions

Request:

Received: 5 March 2026

QUESTION:

Can you please tell me the equivalent pension obtained by rank for retiring PFEW officials.

For example what police equivalent pension does a Fed Official who is a police sergeant at retirement get paid, do they receive pension in line with sergeant rank or at a level of a higher rank?

Responded: 14 May 2026

RESPONSE:

In order to answer this request, the Police Federation of England and Wales (PFEW) would need clarification as to what is meant by the term “PFEW officials” (by identifying specific job titles) as this is not a term used within the organisation.

However, the PFEW does not pay pensions in relation to officers, even those who hold positions such as National Chair, National Secretary etc.  Police forces are required to uprate the officer’s pension to the equivalent rank of the position held within the PFEW.  Consequently, this data is held by the individual officer’s police force and not the PFEW.
