Please may I request a breakdown of the vote count per candidate for the recent Northamptonshire Workplace Representative Election?

We cannot provide the information requested as it would be a breach of Police Federation of England and Wales Rules; specifically the National Electoral Arrangements (NEA), which form Appendix 2 to the aforementioned Rules.

Paragraph 16 of Appendix 2, which can be found on the PFEW website, states, ‘After each election the independent scrutineer will publish the successful candidates, but details of the votes cast for candidates will not be published.’

Due to the fact that the Police Federation of England and Wales Rules are governed by the The Police Federation (England and Wales) Regulations 2017 conferred by sections 50(1), (2)(i), (7) and 60 of the Police Act 1996(a), which are an Act of Parliament, we are relying on the fact that we are prohibited under the law to share that information.

In light of the NEA set out in Appendix 2 of the PFEW Rules we are not able to provide you with this information.
