Request:

Received: 5 February 2025

1. How many total Fed Rep vacancies are there across the entire branch network (to include workplace reps and full-time office holders). 

2. How many total nominations were received for Fed Rep vacancies across the entire branch network. 

3. Please break down number of Fed Rep vacancies per branch and also list the number of nominations received for Fed Rep elections in that particular branch. This for each of the 43 branches. As an example, Westshire Police Federation has XX amount of positions on its branch council and received XX amount of nominations in this election period. Please set this out as a table. 

4. Please confirm that any current or previous elected Federation representatives subject to temporary or permanent suspensions and/or exclusions were NOT sent emails from PFEW/Mi-Voice inviting them to stand for election in this current election period. Also please confirm the number of individuals who would be prevented from standing for election due to the above suspensions / exclusions. 

5. Please provide the cost / amount paid to ‘Mi-Voice’ for this current triennial election cycle (to date).

4. a)  Election communication emails were sent to all members.

b) The Police Federation of England and Wales (PFEW) confirms that it does hold this data but is exempting it under section 40(3A)(a) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.  

The data associated with this request is of a small number. Therefore, the PFEW believes that the sharing of information would constitute personal data. This is because it considers that the  individuals affected could be identifiable by persons associated with the PFEW, even if they are not expressly identified by name.  

The PFEW has not identified any legitimate interest, under the public interest test, in providing the data and considers that the need to uphold the rights and fundamental freedoms of the  persons, who meet the criteria set out in the question, outweighs the necessity to disclose.  

In the absence of any lawful basis to process the data, providing it would contravene Article 5(1)(a) of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UKGDPR).

5. The total for the current triennial election to the date of this request (05/02/2025) is £131,003.30.
