The Police Federation of England and Wales (PFEW) confirms that it does hold this data but is exempting it under section 40(3A)(a) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
The data associated with this request is of a small number. Therefore, the PFEW believes that the sharing of information would constitute personal data. This is because it considers that the individuals affected could be identifiable by persons associated with the West Mercia Federation group insurance scheme even if they are not expressly identified by name.
The PFEW has not identified any legitimate interest, under the public interest test, in providing the data and considers that the need to uphold the rights and fundamental freedoms of the persons, who meet the criteria set out in the question, outweighs the necessity to disclose.
In the absence of any lawful basis to process the data, providing it would contravene Article 5(1)(a) of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UKGDPR).
