After winning Cleveland Police Federation's own Rep of the Year Award at the branch Bravery Awards, Adam "Woody" Woodland has already received well-deserved recognition from his peers.

A police officer with Cleveland Police for more than 25 years, Woody is a familiar and respected figure both within the force and among the public. While many know him from his appearances on Police Interceptors, colleagues know him best for his kindness, compassion and unwavering support for others. Friendly, approachable and always ready with a smile, Woody has a unique ability to see the best in people, even during their most difficult moments.

As one of the branch's most active Federation representatives, Woody has built an exceptional reputation for supporting members through complex misconduct and criminal investigations. He approaches every case with professionalism, diligence and empathy, ensuring officers feel heard, supported and valued throughout what can often be the most challenging periods of their careers. His commitment to delivering the best possible representation is reflected in hiswillingness to seek feedback, learn from others and continually improve his skills for the benefit of members.

Over the past two years alone, Woody has supported 26 officers through misconduct and gross misconduct matters, including several criminal investigations. Working alongside solicitors, barristers and Professional Standards Departments, he has provided steady guidance and reassurance while helping members navigate highly stressful and life-changing situations. His calm leadership, extensive knowledge and ability to build trust have made him one of the branch's most respected representatives.

Woody is often described as the Federation's "go-to" representative. Whether answering a quick question on Police Regulations, providing advice on local policies or supporting a complex case, he is always willing to help. Members know that when they need support, Woody will answer the call. His approach ensures officers feel important, listened to and reassured, particularly at times when they may feel isolated or overwhelmed.

Beyond individual casework, Woody plays a vital role in supporting fellow representatives. As one of the most active contributors within the branch's representative network, he regularly shares knowledge, answers questions and encourages open discussion. After developing significant expertise in misconduct representation, Woody has expanded his knowledge into equality matters and is increasingly supporting members facing a wider range of workplace issues. He is constantly seeking innovative ways to improve members' experiences, including helping create arrangements that allow officers being interviewed by Professional Standards to do so in a more comfortable and supportive Federation environment.

Despite balancing Federation responsibilities with his full-time policing role, Woody consistently goes above and beyond for members.
