Since being elected as a Federation representative in September 2024, Gary Loth has made an immediate and highly positive impact on members across Cambridgeshire Police Federation.

Although relatively new to the role, he has embraced the responsibilities of representation with energy, professionalism and dedication, quickly becoming a trusted advocate for officers and staff. Through his commitment to supporting colleagues and addressing workplace concerns, Gary has earned a reputation for being approachable, reliable and focused on achieving positive outcomes for members.

Having completed all relevant Federation training, Gary has confidently put his knowledge into practice. He works closely with members to provide advice and support, raises concerns with senior leaders and regularly engages with department heads to ensure the issues affecting officers are heard and acted upon. His fair and balanced approach has helped establish strong working relationships across the force, ensuring members' voices are represented at every level.

Alongside his role as a workplace representative, Gary has also taken on the important position of Branch Detective Lead. In this capacity, he has worked hard to strengthen engagement with detective members and ensure their experiences are understood by force leadership. Recently, he led a survey of detectives across the force, providing valuable insight into the realities and challenges of modern detective work. His efforts have helped create a clearer understanding of the pressures facing investigative teams and ensured their concerns remain firmly on the agenda.

Gary recognises that trust is at the heart of effective representation. Whether supporting a member through a conduct matter or providing guidance on Police Regulations and workplace issues, he approaches every conversation with professionalism, compassion and respect. His commitment to delivering a high standard of service has helped build confidence among members, who know they can rely on him for honest advice and practical support.

Keen to continuously develop his skills, Gary has completed both his initial Federation training and Conduct course, while regularly attending national briefings and online learning events. By staying informed about emerging issues and best practice across the Federation, he helps ensure that Cambridgeshire members benefit from the latest guidance and support available.

Despite being relatively early in his representative journey, Gary has already made a significant contribution to the branch. Through his commitment, advocacy and willingness to go the extra mile for members, he has demonstrated the qualities of an outstanding Federation representative and continues to make a positive difference to policing in Cambridgeshire.
