The National Board of the Police Federation of England and Wales has today appointed Brian Booth as Acting National Chair and Mel Warnes as Acting National Secretary.
In accordance with Federation procedures and following an independently-run national board election, Paul Williams and Simon Kempton have been elected as Acting Deputy National Chair and Acting Deputy National Secretary respectively.
In accordance with the Federation’s governance rules, Tiff Lynch and John Partington have been suspended from their roles pending ongoing investigations. It is important to emphasise that suspension is a neutral act, is not a disciplinary sanction and does not imply any presumption of wrongdoing or guilt.
These events do not affect the Police Federation's work on behalf of members. Police officers will continue to receive the representation, legal support and welfare services they rely on. The Federation’s comprehensive Transformation Programme improving governance, culture and transparency will continue uninterrupted so we can better serve the needs of our members now and into the future.
Due to the ongoing investigation the Federation will be making no further comment at this time.
