A police officer who was seriously injured in a road traffic collision while on duty has secured substantial compensation with support funded through the Police Federation.
The officer was riding a police motorcycle when a transit van collided with them, throwing them from the bike and leaving them trapped underneath. They suffered injuries to their shoulder and leg and needed specialist legal support to pursue a personal injury claim.
Through the Police Federation's Road Traffic Accident (RTA) legal assistance scheme, the officer was quickly put in touch with one of our panel solicitors, who guided them through every stage of the process.
After investigating the circumstances of the collision, legal action was taken and a settlement was successfully secured on the officer's behalf.
The claim was settled in just five months, providing the officer with compensation and helping them move forward after a difficult experience.
The case shows the real value of the legal support available through Police Federation membership, giving officers access to expert help when they need it most.
