The December issue of POLICE arrives as the year draws to a close, bringing stories of recognition, reform and resilience across the policing community.

Our main feature takes you inside the Annual Conference, capturing the energy of two packed days of debate, keynote addresses and celebration. Award winners are profiled in depth, from detectives and response officers to trailblazing women in policing, while a sidebar spotlights headline sponsor Slater & Gordon and their support for the profession.

Across our news pages, we report on forces launching Christmas Police Operations to meet festive demand and PFEW’s influence at this year’s party conferences raising the Copped Enough campaign. We also cover the NPCC’s new Investigation Management Document under the #SimplifyDG6 campaign, designed to ease the burden of case file building.

Our inclusive policing coverage highlights everything you would like to know about adjusted duties, while our awards section celebrates the officers honoured with the King’s Gallantry Awards.

History and human-interest are never far away. We revisit the Ice Age winters of 1947 and 1962 with a striking photo collage, while a Federation rep is recognised for their innovative Call Anytime initiative. A guest column explores the impact of missing person investigation on policing and society, and our charity section coverage opens registrations for the 2026 Police Unity Tour.

We also look back at the headlines PFEW made during 2025 in a one-page collage, reminding members of the Federation’s impact throughout the year.

Finally, our sponsored features provide practical support and lifestyle content.

This edition closes the year with a balance of reflection and forward-looking resolve, honouring service, amplifying member voices and setting the stage for 2026.
