The funeral of Sergeant Matt Ratana will take place on Wednesday, 4 November at 11:30am.
The service will be led by the Reverend Prebendary Jonathan Osborne MBE, Senior Chaplain, Metropolitan Police Service, and Maori speaker the Venerable Jo Kelly-Moore, Archdeacon of Canterbury.
Speakers at the service will represent family, friends and police colleagues, including a tribute by Metropolitan Police Commissioner Cressida Dick.
Due to Covid restrictions the Met is unable to provide a force “service” funeral, however a full “service” memorial will be planned for when Covid restrictions have been lifted.
The event will be broadcast live through the Met’s Facebook, Twitter and the Met’s Website.
The event broadcast will go live at approximately 11:25am.
Following the service there will be a private cremation service.
Met officers and staff watching the service have specific instructions on how to access the event broadcast. Guidance has been published on the Met’s Intranet.
