As we head into one of the busiest nights of the year, I know that many of you will be preparing, not to celebrate, but to work a shift to ensure the safety and security of the public. To all of the police officers and other members of the 999 family working the New Year’s shift on lates or nights tonight please stay safe, look after each other and lookout for each other. And for those of you working the day shift on New Year’s Day, who will be picking up the pieces of what happened the night before, I hope that the first day of the new decade doesn’t bring too much craziness- or paperwork!
Wishing you and your families a safe and peaceful New Year. Let’s hope 2020 is a good one for us all.
