Welcome to the Bereaved through Alcohol and Drugs website Our aim is to be a source of information, support and hope for anyone whose loved one has died as a result of drug or alcohol use. You may or may not have known about your loved one's drug or alcohol use or been unaware of the full extent of their use. Perhaps you had been living with their long-term drug or alcohol use or perhaps they may have been experimenting with drugs or alcohol. Child Bereavement UK

When a parent, sibling, grandparent or friend has died, children and young people grieve just as deeply as adults, but they can show it in different ways. They learn how to grieve by copying the responses of the adults around them and rely on them to support them in their grief. How a child or young person responds to someone dying will be influenced by their age and understanding, the relationship they had with the person who died, and how the person died.

We are so sorry that your baby has died. At Sands, we understand how devastating it is when a baby dies as many of us have been through the experience ourselves. We know that everyone grieves differently and there is no right or wrong way to grieve. Each person needs different types of support and this can change over time. The Good Grief Project

Widowed and Young

WAY is the only national charity in the UK for people aged 50 or under when their partner died. It’s a club that nobody wants to be eligible to join, but we are so glad that our members find us. We are a place for people who have experienced an untimely loss to understand and have compassion for those experiencing the same. Quite simply, to be able to say: “I know”.
