13 November 2024
Members are invited to explore what it truly means to be a man in 2024, thanks to a webinar being held this week by the Police Federation of England and Wales (PFEW).
Taking place on Friday (15 November), the online session is being hosted by PFEW Men’s Health Lead Zac Mader.
Joining Zac will be Mark Brooks OBE, senior communications and policy advisor for Men’s Health, with the pair discussing the ongoing challenges and issues men face in the 21st century, specifically those in policing.
Nottinghamshire Police Federation chair Simon Riley said: “As a man in 2024, I feel like we’re undoubtedly surrounded by conflicting pressures, and policing is no exception.
“No doubt, all our members are finding it difficult to navigate their way through the constantly changing landscape of policing and society, men included.
“I’d encourage as many of our members - both male and female - to attend this webinar. I hope it will show others that they’re not alone in how they are feeling and, most importantly, challenge the stigmas surrounding men’s health.”
The webinar will also hear from Police Care UK about the support they can offer both serving and retired police officers and staff.
The webinar will take place from 12.45pm and is expected to be finished by 2pm.
