Nottinghamshire Police Federation

Members invited to ‘first of its kind’ sporting event

21 May 2024

An organisation that supports serving or retired officers and staff to play adaptive or disability sports is inviting Nottinghamshire Police Federation members to try out what it has to offer.
Police UK Disability Sport (PUKDS) is hosting a multi-sport event later this summer, which is free to attend.
The event is the first of its kind in the UK’s police community.
The sports on offer are badminton, sitting volleyball, table tennis, wheelchair basketball and wheelchair rugby, and GB-level coaching teams will be in attendance.
There will also be a chance to try out sports that are set to be introduced in 2025 such as discus and shot putt, hand bike and indoor rowing.
The event aims to highlight the impact sport can have on physical and mental recovery.
It takes place at the University of Nottingham’s David Ross Sports Village from 10am to 6pm on Saturday 3 August and Sunday 4 August.
It is open to all police officers and staff and Police Federation members are being invited to come along and try out the sports.
The event is supported by Metfriendly and Lightweight Mobility and Seating and Nottinghamshire Police Federation will be among the exhibitors.
