Dog handler PC Chris Duffy has spoken of his pride at being nominated for a national Police Bravery Award in the latest edition of Front Line, the magazine of Nottinghamshire Police Federation.

He has spoken about being nominated and representing the Force at Downing Street.
The magazine features a report from the annual Care of Police Survivors (COPS) Service of Remembrance where Sergeant Graham Saville was among the fallen officers remembered.

Branch secretary Tom Hill reflects on an ‘emotional’ Police Unity Tour (PUT), which supports the work of COPS.
Simon welcomes a pledge by the new Home Secretary, Yvette Cooper, to restore respect for policing as he called for tough sentences for criminals who attack officers to become the norm following the violent disorder in the UK in recent weeks.
He describes the 4.75 per cent pay award for officers as ‘a good start’ as he insists the Federation will continue to fight for a fair pay settlement and an independent pay review process.
Sergeant Rachel Dowsett speaks of her pride after the team she led in response to Storm Babet last year won Chief Constable’s Commendations.
There’s a focus on a specially adapted drone car, described as a ‘game-changer’ for the Force.
We shine a light on the Force’s cadets and the subjects they learn about and there’s a feature on the challenges and the importance of tackling rural crime.
