Are you paying too much tax?

Nottinghamshire Police Federation members are being urged to check they are paying the correct amount of tax.

For those unsure about how to check themselves, help is available from The Tax Refund Company, which works with most Federation branches across England and Wales and has been used by more than 900 of our members in the past 18 months alone. More than 75 per cent of members using the service have discovered they were paying too much tax.

Nottinghamshire officers who have used this service have received average refunds of over £214 each with many also seeing an increase in their net pay as well.

You should not assume HMRC will send you a refund if you have overpaid tax. It is up to you to check if you have paid too much tax and then claim it back off HMRC if you have.
