6 October 2023
This year’s Annual Conference is taking place next week and Nottinghamshire Police Federation members are being encouraged to register for the two-day event.
Organised by the Police Federation of England and Wales (PFEW), the Conference - which this year is virtual - will be held across Tuesday (10 October) and Wednesday (11 October).
And Nottinghamshire Police Federation chair Simon Riley is encouraging members to contribute to the future of policing by being part of the event.
Simon said: “The Conference serves as a vital platform for Federation members to actively engage in discussions about issues directly impacting both you and your role. It is an excellent opportunity for members to join in the conversation and learn about the priorities that will shape the future of policing.
“This year's Conference is taking place online, ensuring greater accessibility for our members and allowing more voices to be heard. I look forward to seeing as many members as possible there.”
The Conference, hosted by Talk TV presenter Ian Collins, will be a mix of live broadcasts and pre-recorded presentations from senior Federation officials as well as experts in policing, Government, and the Home Office.
Day one of the agenda includes discussions on leadership in policing, Home Office review impact on independent panels, and disclosure and redaction, as well as retirement, misogyny, and Mutual Aid.
Industrial rights and wellbeing will be explored on day two when there will be a keynote address from PFEW chair Steve Hartshorn and a Q&A panel session
The conference will also recognise outstanding contributions to policing through the presentation of awards for excellence in roads policing, detectives, and women in policing.
