Free online seminars are being held this month to help Nottinghamshire Police Federation members understand more about the police pension.

Metfriendly, a financial services provider to the police service, is running free webinars to answer police officers’ questions and dispel myths around the pension.

The session will cover:

• Topical questions and myths around the police pension using real-life case studies
• Pension reform
• Weighted accrual and immediate detriment – what they mean and how they work
• Underpin calculations – what it is and how it affects you
• October 2023 – relevance of this date and how it affects you
• Understanding your pension statement
• Scheme overview - all three schemes - and how they work together
• Understanding when you can retire and what to expect for lump sum options.

The first webinar for police officers takes place from 9.30am to 11.30am on Thursday 17 August. A second session will be held from 6pm to 8pm on Thursday 24 August.
