Group Insurance Scheme - Renewal 1st October 2024

An Important update to our GIS (Group Insurance Scheme) renewal policy, effective from 1st October 2024. 

Our Trustees met with Philip Williams in August and ensured that your level of cover and value for money were paramount and with the minimal price increase for this year we hope you agree:

For Serving Officers:

• The cost for single cover will rise by £1, bringing the new premium to £32.50.
• Partner cover will remain unchanged at £7.50.
• Child Death Grant has increased from £3 to £5k
• Assault cover to now include dog attacks (either offenders dog or serving police dog)

We are also pleased to announce new enhancements to the Cruise Cover. The policy now includes :

• Missed Departure
• Compensation for missed connections.
• Skipped Port
• Cabin Confinement
• Reimbursement for cabin confinement expenses
• Loss or Damage to Cruise Attire

Our comprehensive coverage and the added benefits for cruise travel ensure that you are well-protected in a variety of scenarios. We believe that the increased premium is modest compared to the superior level of protection and peace of mind that GIS provides.

We strive to offer the best possible coverage for our members and firmly believe that this remains a fantastic product and one that is very hard to beat; especially with the extensive level of travel cover you can continue to enjoy and take into retirement now up to your 80^th birthday.

If you wish to cancel your cover at any time please email ruth.fox@lincs.polfed.org or call 01522 305460 so that she can make contact with payroll to cease any future payments for you.
