On Duty Assault Benefit

Member - whilst on police duty if an Officer suffers an assault caused by the discharge of either firearms, crossbows or shotguns, or caused by stabbing inflicted by a knife or other sharp instrument, or as a result of an attack by a dog* which results in actual physical injury which renders the member unfit for duty for a period of 3 consecutive days or more.  This also covers burns causing permanent disfigurement or scarring. The amount payable ranges from £300 to £5,000.  On Duty HIV Benefit is a separate form and can be obtained if/when needed.

Convalescent Benefit

Member - If attending PTC (Harrogate or Auchterardar) you can claim £70 per stay.  Form needs to be authorised at PTC then brought back to the Federation for processing.

Court Award Compensation

Member - Up to £500 can be paid.  If as a result of an On-duty assault, compensation awarded to an Officer by the Court has not been paid within 6 months from the payment date of the award, a payment will be made.  The benefit is payable after a period of 6 months has elapsed from the date the award was made, up to 24 months after the award was made.
