Lincolnshire Police Mutual Assistance Scheme - LPMAS

Welcome to the Lincolnshire Police Mutual Assistance Scheme (LPMAS)

Established on April 1, 1974, the Lincolnshire Police Mutual Assistance Scheme (LPMAS) is designed to provide financial assistance to the dependants and beneficiaries of our members in times of need.

The scheme ensures that support is available to the families of officers who tragically lose their lives, as well as to officers who suffer the loss of a spouse. Below, you will find detailed information about the scheme, its costs, and the application process.

LPMAS was founded to offer financial support to the families and dependants of deceased members, and to members whose spouses have passed away. Our goal is to ensure that during difficult times, the families of our officers are not left without support.

Costs and Subscriptions

There are no ongoing costs to membership. Subscriptions are only levied in the unfortunate event of a member or their spouse's death. The specific amounts are determined based on the circumstances:

Death of a Member on Duty or Seconded: Each member contributes an amount equal to one-quarter of a Constable’s lowest daily gross basic pay.

Death of a Member (General): Each member contributes one day's gross basic pay of a Constable on the lowest rate.

Death of a Spouse: Each member contributes one-half of a Constable’s lowest daily gross basic pay.

Members are notified when a subscription is to be levied, and payments are handled through payroll deductions. In case of multiple claims within the same pay period, no more than two subscriptions will be levied to ease the financial burden on members.

How to Apply

Joining the Lincolnshire Police Mutual Assistance Scheme is straightforward. Here’s how you can become a member:

  1. Eligibility: The scheme is open to all serving Lincolnshire Police Officers, including those in NPCC ranks, within six months of their appointment.
  2. Enrolment: To enrol, you must complete the LPMAS application form, available from the HR department or at the link below. Your membership will begin on the date the Secretary receives your completed form.
