Wiltshire Police Federation

Chair's reaction to the news that Wiltshire Police taken out of 'special measures'

21 May 2024

Today Chief Constable Catherine Roper has announced that Wiltshire Police are no longer in the Engage stage with HMICFRS. This is such welcome news and is so very well received. Our police officers in all departments across the county have worked so hard at accepting and implementing the changes made to our force under the leadership of the very driven, Chief Constable Roper.

The Federation would like to say thank you to every single officer that has put their all in to this achievement in a pretty quick turnaround. There have been so many changes to working practices and such a huge push on standards. You have embraced it and achieved what you set out to achieve. Whilst this is the first step and we have more to go. I can see a future where we are proud to where that Wiltshire Police crest and proud to be part of this force that is steaming ahead to great things.

What this really means is that we are delivering a better service to our communities, our victims are getting the service they want, and they deserve.

You did this. Enjoy the success.
