The Police Treatment Centres Virtual Back on the Beat Cycle Sportive 2021

18 March 2021

This year the Police Treatment Centre’s flagship event Back on the Beat, goes virtual!

For the first time ever we are holding a totally virtual event! Riders can take part in the comfort of their own homes or safely in their local area.

In the light of the COVID-19 Pandemic we decided that holding an event at the Centres and around North Yorkshire would not be possible this year. However, we want to ensure that our fantastic riders and fundraisers still have a chance to support the charity.

This year more than ever we need the backing of our Police Family colleagues. Like many charities, 2020 was a hard year for us; we lost considerable income and were closed to Patients for much of the year. We have worked hard to continue to provide expert care for the Police Family during the pandemic and we hope to carry on this work for many years to come. But we need the help of the Police Family to achieve our goals.

Back on the Beat took a break in 2020 but its back in 2021 for an all-virtual event. We hope BOTB 2021 will not only raise much needed funds for the PTC but also raise awareness of the fantastic care we provide to the Police Family on the front line, especially after such a difficult twelve months.

BOTB 2021 will take place from 10th to 16th May 2021. Riders have seven days to complete 100km either on their static bikes or in their communities; offering the flexibility to complete the distance at a time and place to suit them. They could decide to ride all 100km solo or split the task with a team of colleagues.

We encourage riders to share their progress on social media and through their Fundraising Pages!

This year entry to the ride will be £10 and all riders / teams will pledge to raise a minimum of £100.00 for the PTC.

Budding cyclists can also take part, with an under 16 entry available for £5.00! Under 16s can try to complete 50km over the course of the week.

Riders will receive access to our bespoke training and nutrition guides, training rides, exclusive content during the week of the ride, access to our live virtual 100km ride along around beautiful North Yorkshire and a medal on completion of their 100km.

We hope you are able to support BOTB 2021 and share this information and the attached posters within your Force as much as possible.

This year, more than ever, the PTC need the support of the Police Family!
