DETECTIVE Sergeant Nick Bailey and his wife Sarah have presented almost £20,000 to the Stars Appeal.
DS Bailey raised £18,419.52 by running the Salisbury Marathon on August 11 earlier this year, and chose the Stars Appeal's Radnor Ward fund as his charity.
DS Bailey was admitted to the Radnor Ward in March 2018 after being contaminated with Novichok.
"Despite all that Nick and his family have been through, he has raised an amazing amount of money for our ward by training for and running the 2019 Salisbury marathon. The money that has been raised will make a very real difference to our patients on Radnor Ward."
Dr Cook added: We intend on using these funds to enhance our bathroom facilities for ambulant patients, which will significantly help with their rehabilitation, and provide improved dignity and privacy.
"On top of this, Nick’s fundraising is a huge boost for our staff, to know that our work is appreciated and supported makes a real difference to morale.”
