Federation gets "temperature check" on the force during Brews and Twos visits

20 August 2025

Humberside Police Federation have been out about this week meeting members and giving them a well deserved brew.

The top team have been chatting with colleagues and highlighting the Federation's #CoppedEnough campaign.

This week it's been Grimsby and Clough Road but the Federation plans to get the Brews and Twos van out across the force area over coming weeks.

Lee Sims, Chair of Humberside Police Federation, said "Every year we try to visit nearly every police station within Humberside, just to actually give a bit back by giving a brew and maybe some merchandise, but it's also important to speak to colleagues and get a temperature check on what's going on.

"As a Federation, we can then feed back what is really happening out there and the reality colleagues are facing into the relevant departments and the relevant bosses.

"But also on these visits we have been highlighting the Federation's #CoppedEnough campaign and what we can do as a Federation to try and improve working pay and conditions."

Lee said officers have discussed with him a lack of numbers, people not being able to get time off work and high workloads.

"I will be feeding that back into the chief," he added.

Lee concluded: "I'd like to thank all our colleagues across Humberside for their continued hard work. It is noticed and it is appreciated.

"Also thanks from me to all the Federation Reps for what they’ve done over the last couple of days, and especially our office colleagues Jenny Dooley and Laura Atkinson because without them this wouldn’t have happened."
