Humberside Police Federation

Statement from Police Superintendents' Association

17 October 2024

A message of support from our colleagues at the Police Superintendents' Association.

Humberside Police Federation will continue to work closely with them.

PSA Assistant National Secretary Dan Murphy: “The Police Superintendents’ Association has been providing support to members from Humberside Police since May 2024, when, in line with their duty under the ethical policing principles, they had raised concerns with their force executive relating to alleged misconduct by members of the chief officer team. Some of these matters are now being investigated by the IOPC and the association will continue to provide support.

“Further concerns relating to members of the chief officer team and the culture within the leadership of the force have been raised by members and by officers from other ranks. These concerns have been shared with the current temporary chief constable, the force’s Professional Standards Department and the IOPC. We are supportive of the letter shared by HM’s Chief Inspector of Constabulary Andy Cooke, drawing attention to these matters and welcome any intervention or support for the force in addressing them.

“We are grateful to representatives from Humberside Police’s Federation, who have now publicly expressed their shared concerns over these matters, their support for our members, and for any other officers who report concerns of wrongdoing.”
