Humberside Police Federation

Stress management: new guide published

1 April 2021

Humberside Police Federation secretary Rob Grunner is encouraging members to make use of a free guide that has been created to help officers manage their stress levels.

Produced by Police Mutual, the guide has been launched as part of National Stress Awareness Month, an annual campaign that takes place throughout April.

Rob says that due to the pandemic it is more important than ever for members to take the time to consider their mental health and wellbeing.

“After such a challenging year, it would be understandable if people are feeling slightly more stressed and worried than usual,” said Rob.

“National Stress Awareness Month highlights the importance of talking about these issues and reaching out for support when we need it.”

As well as ways to manage stress levels, the guide explores different techniques to help reduce worrying.

It also includes useful links and information on a downloadable phone app for people to access further support.

Rob adds: “It’s important that our members know that the Federation is here to offer support, not just in April but all year round.”

Police Mutual offers financial and wellbeing support to serving and retired officers, as well as their families.
