Meet The Humberside Police Federation Reps – PC David Graham
Q. Can you give us a brief summary of your career history and your current rank and role?
A. I joined in May 2007 so just over 14 and a half years ago. Since then I have worked on Response/Patrol all of my serving career. I am still a PC and only recently that I have started to look at the sergeants role however I have been recently posted to an investigative role so I may look at doing my detectives qualification.
Q. What made you want to be a Fed Rep?
A. I want to help officers when they are in sticky situations. Give my support and experience as I have been there myself and it’s a lonely place.
Q. Why do you think it’s important for members to be supported by fellow officers as their Reps?
A. I think it’s important as Reps are up to date with current legislation, issues on shift and the challenges that the fellow officers are experiencing
Q. Which areas in particular are you looking forward to focusing on?
A. Welfare and disciplinary are my main interest, I have witnessed and felt the damage that the lack of both can affect officers without the right attention.
Q. What should members do if they’re concerned about anything?
A. Contact your Fed Rep or the Fed office in office hours as the ladies in the office as they are very knowledgeable
Q. Tell us an unusual or interesting fact about yourself?
A. I am the third generation of police officer with my Dad and Grandad both serving before me. My Grandad finished off his career at Priory police station which is the station I have just been posted to.
