The autumn edition of Frontline, the magazine of Humberside Police Federation, is available now.
In it, branch chair Pete Musgrave urges members to take part in this year’s Federation Demand, Capacity and Welfare Survey to help build a clear picture of policing during the pandemic.
“We need as many of our members as possible to have their say on how they are affected by a whole range of issues, not least the Covid-19 pandemic,” he said, adding: “I appreciate you’re extremely busy but please take a moment as the more members who complete the survey, the stronger our message will be, both nationally and locally.”
In other articles in the magazine, Pete also urges officers to use the Test and Trace app to help stem the spread of coronavirus and he welcomes a move by the Home Secretary to enshrine a Police Covenant in law.
There is a special feature on a charity sky-diving event to raise funds for three charities affected by the pandemic and news items on the Government agreement to fast-track an increase in maximum sentences for assaults on officers and improvements in the timeliness of Independent Office for Police Conduct investigations.
There is also coverage of this year’s virtual National Police Memorial Day service which included messages from HRH The Prince of Wales, Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Home Secretary Priti Patel who all paid tribute to fallen officers.
Printed copies of the magazine are being circulated around the Force and you can also read it online.
