The Police Federation of England and Wales (PFEW) will livestream its annual conference, giving members in Hertfordshire a chance to follow key discussions.
The conference takes place on 18 and 19 November and brings together senior Federation leaders, policing experts, and policy makers to examine issues affecting officers and the wider service.
The programme of events will feature panel discussions, presentations, and live Q&As.
Hertfordshire Police Federation chair Luke Mitchell said: “Our annual conference is an important date on the calendar and gives members the chance to stay up to date with national conversations on issues affecting them.
“Key issues to be discussed include pay and conditions, mental health and wellbeing, and the wider pressures of policing
“Conference allows members to hear from the people influencing these areas and shaping the future of policing.
“I’d encourage members to join online, if they can, or catch up afterwards.”
The event begins at 1pm on 18 November, hosted by broadcaster Ian Collins and supported by Slater and Gordon.
National chair Tiff Lynch will open the conference, followed by sessions on pay and conditions and support for officers’ families. Delegates will hear a keynote speech and a Q&A with PFEW chief executive Mukund Krishna. Awards for Outstanding Contribution to Women in Policing and Detective of the Year will also be presented.
Day two starts at 9.20am with a further keynote speech from Tiff. The schedule includes a panel on policing’s suicide crisis, an update on the #SimplifyDG6 campaign and a live Q&A. Awards for Investigation of the Year and Response Officer of the Year will be presented event.
The in-person conference is for elected delegates only, who have been formally chosen to represent their branches.
