A Hertfordshire Police detective has been recognised in the King’s New Year Honours for her contribution to policing.
Detective Inspector Justine Jenkins has been awarded the prestigious King’s Police Medal (KPM).
Branch chair Luke Mitchell said he was delighted for her.
“On behalf of Hertfordshire Police Federation, I send my congratulations to Justine," said Luke.
“The King’s Police Medal is one of the highest awards in policing.

“It is recognition for Justine’s dedication, work, and commitment to the profession.
“She is an incredible person and an inspirational detective, and thoroughly deserves to receive the award.”
Justine, who retired earlier this month after 30 years’ service, said she was ‘overwhelmed and delighted with this recognition’.
She said: “I’ve had lots of lovely messages from everyone.
“I received a phone call and an email a few months ago about the award. I was sworn to secrecy until now which was pretty difficult to keep, but I did manage it.
“While this is in my name, the teams I have worked with have been awesome and nothing is about one person alone. Thanks to all who have worked with me over the years.”
The King’s Police Medal is awarded to members of the police service in all four nations of the United Kingdom for a specially distinguished record in police specific services of conspicuous merit.
Justine was named Hertfordshire Police Investigator of the Year in 2024 for her work on the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit.
She led more than 40 murder investigations as well as many serious and complex crime investigations.
Chief Constable Andy Prophet said: “This is a fantastic achievement for Justine, and is testament to her skill, dedication and leadership as a senior detective in Hertfordshire and major crime for many, many years.
“On behalf of everyone in the constabulary, I would like to offer my warmest congratulations to Justine for her richly deserved recognition.”
