Tributes to fallen officer

Hertfordshire Police Federation has remembered a teenage police officer who was killed in a motorbike crash on his way to report for duty 43 years ago today.

PC Peter Eykelbosch was just 19 when he suffered fatal injuries as his motorcycle was in collision with a lorry near St Albans on 9 June 1980.

Branch chair Luke Mitchell said: “Today we pay tribute to Peter Eykelbosch.

“The thoughts of all at Hertfordshire Police Federation are with his family, friends and former colleagues.”
