Hertfordshire Police Federation chair Luke Mitchell says it’s more important than ever that members make their views known in the annual pay and morale survey.
The Police Federation of England and Wales (PFEW) has launched the survey today and Luke is encouraging members to take part.
He said: “As the cost of living crisis continues to bite, it’s never been more important for us to hear members’ views on the impact rising bills are having on their lives.
“The pay and morale survey is a chance for us to capture that information and share it with chief officers and ministers to show them what life is really like for frontline officers.
“We’ll use the findings in our campaigns for fair pay and a fairer funding system and when talking to key decision makers.
“We’re stronger together so the more members who can complete the survey the louder our messaging will be when working on their behalf.”
The survey is open until Monday 11 December.
Last year’s survey found that 78 per cent of respondents in Hertfordshire Police were dissatisfied or very dissatisfied with their overall remuneration, while 22 per cent reported never or almost never having enough money to cover all their essentials.
Some 58 per cent of respondents said their morale was low or very low, with 87 per cent saying that morale within the force was low or very low.
Members will be sent full details of how to take part in the survey.
