Hertfordshire Police Federation members are being encouraged to contribute to a review into accountability announced by Home Secretary Suella Braverman.
It’s looking into the investigatory arrangements that follow the police use of force, driving-related incidents, and conducting first aid, among other incidents.
Paul Coxall, Hertfordshire Police Federation conduct and performance lead and treasurer, said: “Our members do a unique job in protecting and serving the public and face dangers every day in carrying out their duties.
“It’s absolutely vital that their voices are heard in this review that it fully understands the significant issues and challenges members face.”

The review seeks to fully understand how the system that holds officers to account for their actions can also acknowledge the significant risks they face.
Hertfordshire Police Chief Constable Charlie Hall said: “As part of the accountability review, the Home Office wants to hear directly from officers with experience of being the subject of investigations for use of force, following pursuits, conducting first aid, attending coronial inquests, or where an investigation managed by the IOPC has become protracted.
“This will mostly involve incidents that have resulted in death or serious injury.
“Those conducting the review want to hear from frontline officers to make sure they fully understand, and listen, to the issues faced, their impact and the changes that are suggested.”
For members who would like to fill in the survey, there is an article on the front page of the intranet with an appropriate link.
The deadline for completing the survey is 4pm on Friday (27 October), while all other written submissions must be in by midnight on 5 November.
