Federation members are being encouraged to find out more following the Force’s recent webinar on mindful drinking.
The online session, which took place on Tuesday (11 January), is part of a Force Wellbeing Focus Week and aimed to inform and educate people on alcohol consumption.
“We know the last few years have been difficult for our members, Covid has changed the way we work, nationally we have seen some issues with officers using alcohol as a crutch which, in turn, has led to investigations,” says Al Wollaston, Hertfordshire Police Federation secretary and wellbeing lead.
“As a Federation, we put wellbeing as the front of what we do, we want line managers to support their staff and everyone to be looking out for each other. Prevention and early support is key, there is lots of support out there for members and we’d urge staff to seek support.”
