Derbyshire Police Federation chair Keith Chambers has paid tribute to a Derbyshire PC who died on this day 12 years ago.
Bruce Stevenson collapsed and died while on duty at Cotton Lane Police Station on 7 January 2013. He was 47.
“I knew Bruce very well. We both worked together at Peartree as PCs on adjoining shifts. He was a very popular officer - small in stature but a huge character.
"I can remember the day he died. I was travelling back from London and received a call from a colleague with the news - it was such a shock and a great loss.
"Our thoughts are with his family, friends and fallen colleagues as they mark this sad anniversary.”
