Fed members invited to nominate outstanding colleagues for police volunteering awards

4 September 2024

The Awards acknowledge exceptional service from Special Constables, police support volunteers, volunteer police cadets and others who provide service to their local free in their free time.

A panel of judges will select a winner and runner-up from a shortlist of nominations across 11 individual and team categories. The panel’s decisions will be based on the criteria of a high-quality piece of work, a measurable impact and an inspiring contribution, and successful nominees will receive their awards at a ceremony on 5 December.

Chair of Derbyshire Police Federation Keith Chambers said: “The work of volunteers in policing is something we should never take for granted because it truly is remarkable. On top of their day jobs and other life commitments, they make meaningful contributions to policing and they deserve to be commended for this.

“I would encourage Federation members to think about the voluntary colleagues around them and how they may make your life easier through their commitment – and if you would like to see them recognised, submit a nomination today.”
