Support on hand for carers

Information and advice for Derbyshire Police Federation members who are caring for a family member is available from a free new online factsheet.

It’s been produced by Police Mutual, which offers financial services for serving or retired police officers, staff and their families, for Carers Week.

The factsheet includes information on caring for elderly parents, caring for someone with dementia and caring for someone with a disability.

It also includes advice for young carers, tips on financial assistance for carers, as well as links to further support and sources of information.

Carers Week is from 5 to 11 June. It aims to raise awareness of caring, highlights the challenges unpaid carers face and recognises the contribution they make to families and communities.
