Fallen colleague remembered

Derbyshire Police Federation has paid tribute to PC Mark Wilkinson who died on this day 35 years ago.

Mark was killed in a road traffic accident as he drove to work for a night shift on 24 September 1988. He was 20.

Derbyshire Police Federation chair Tony Wetton said: “Our fallen colleagues and their sacrifice should never be forgotten despite the passage of time.

“Our thoughts today are with Mark’s family, friends and former colleagues as they mark this sad anniversary.”
