Remembering PC John Fitton

Derbyshire Police Federation chair Tony Wetton has paid tribute to PC John Fitton on the 24th anniversary of his death.

PC Fitton was killed on 20 May 1997, when he was hit by a vehicle while cycling home from work. He was aged 53.

Tony said: “The thoughts of everyone at Derbyshire Police Federation are with John’s family and friends as we remember his life and service.

“John is missed by all who knew him and we are thankful for his service to the public and his dedication to the role.”
