Find out more about the Fed rep role in Twitter discussion

29 June 2021

Police Federation elections are looming and the key role of the workplace rep goes under the spotlight in a special Twitter chat on Wednesday night.

The hour-long @WeCops session, which gets underway at 9pm on Wednesday (30 June), will focus on next month’s  elections, the important work carried out by the reps and how officers can still get involved.

The discussion will be hosted by Police Federation national chair John Apter tweeting as @PFEW_Chair and board member and national wellbeing secretary Belinda Goodwin tweeting as @BelindaPfew for the session.

The @WeCops sessions follow a three-question format and usually feature some interesting discussions.

Derbyshire Police Federation branch secretary Kirsty Bunn is urging members to join the Twitter discussion.

She said: “Elections take place in a few weeks so this Twitter chat is the perfect opportunity for members to ask any questions they might have about workplace reps and the work they do, the training they receive and hopefully how to get involved.”

Elections for Fed reps are held every three years.

The next election process begins on 1 July when nominations open for workplace representatives.
