The Police Federation of England and Wales (PFEW) has put together a survey in relation to the pensions Group Action for those officers who have switched forces during their careers.
The additional survey will help the Federation gather information about the forces officers have worked for and dates of employment in each.
Any member who has changed forces during their career and already completed the initial survey through the Federation’s National Member Database will be sent a link but anyone who fits into this category but does not receive the link to the new survey should contact the Derbyshire Police Federation office.
The Federation announced in May that it was launching a compensation claim against the Government on behalf of affected members who suffered any ‘injury to feeling’ as a result of the transitional protections afforded to some officers when the 2015 pension scheme was introduced.
The Government has accepted that it must rectify any detriment suffered as a result of those transitional protections. Work is ongoing as to how that remedy will be applied across the whole of the public sector pension schemes, including the police service.
The purpose of this claim is to ensure those who have not already submitted a claim in respect of the discrimination are also considered for any compensation the court considers appropriate for the distress caused by the transitional protections.
