Face coverings: a reminder

13 August 2020

Officers are being reminded about the need to wear face coverings to comply with the latest Government guidance.

The latest advice issued by the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC), College of Policing and National Police Coordination Centre recommends that officers have PPE readily available and, as a minimum, that should be a fluid resistant surgical mask and gloves.

“The threat from coronavirus remains high so it is critically important that none of us become complacent and that we all take personal responsibility for following the latest guidance,” says Kirsty Bunn, secretary of Derbyshire Police Federation.

“We are aware of some incidents where officers have been found not to be wearing the appropriate PPE so we would like to remind everyone to read the current operational guidance to keep themselves and others safe."
