Free pension advice for members facing divorce

The family law experts at Slater and Gordon Lawyers have produced a free guide for Derbyshire Police Federation members about their pension in the event of a divorce.

Georgina Chase, the firm’s head of family law, has put together a downloadable two-page guide on the treatment of police pensions upon divorce.

Her update covers the impact of the McCloud remedy, which aimed to remove age discrimination from public sector pension schemes, on the value of a members pension.

It also looks at the Pension Advisory Group’s 2024 guidance ‘A Guide to the Treatment of Pensions on Divorce’, known as PAG2, and discusses when to consider input into the proceedings from a pension on divorce expert (PODE).
