Derbyshire Police Federation

Christmas magazine out now

12 December 2024

The Christmas edition of the Derbyshire Police Federation magazine, News and Views, is available now.

Branch chair Keith Chambers pays tribute to the sacrifices made, not only by members in protecting the public, but also by their families in supporting them, particularly at Christmas.

Keith gives his reaction to a new Home Office unit being created to monitor police performance, questioning whether it’s ‘the best use of Government funding’.

We look back on the highlights of 2024 in a review of the year.

And we look forward to the upcoming Federation elections, with a comprehensive guide on the process, how to put yourself forward to be a workplace rep, and how to vote for your preferred candidates.

There’s a feature on Pete Roberts, who has retired from his role supporting Derbyshire Police Federation, bringing an end to an amazing 54 years of service with the Force.

Inspector Amerjit (Amer) Thandi praises the Police Treatment Centres (PTC) for the care he received for a shoulder problem.

Inspector Dan Phillips opens up about his own wellbeing issues as he highlights the work of the Men’s Health Forum as part of Men’s Health Awareness Month.

Also as part of the awareness month, we meet PC Fred Bray, who discusses conquering the Three Peaks challenge with a team of colleagues and the mental health benefits of exercise.

It’s all in the latest edition of the Derbyshire Police Federation magazine, available to download now.
