The Police Children’s Charity – amnesty ends this month

9 June 2022

Families who have been affected by the death of a parent in the Force can sign up to The Police Children’s Charity now and apply to receive financial support without the usual 12-month wait, thanks to a limited-time amnesty.

The Police Children’s Charity, formerly the St George’s Police Children Trust, has been running the amnesty throughout April and May, but it will end on 30 June.

For this limited period, those who are eligible can start subscribing to the charity and immediately apply for financial support.

Those eligible include children of serving police officers, Police Community Support Officers, Special Constables, detention and custody officers (employed by the police and crime commissioner or the chief constable) and police staff investigators (including CSIs and civilian investigators). Retired officers who worked in an eligible role for a minimum of 20 years or contributed during their time in the Force or continue to contribute to the charity are also eligible.

During the amnesty, any new donors who sign up, as well as current donors, could be in with the chance of winning a Volkswagen e-Up for 24 months by entering this competition
