Spring magazine out now

The spring edition of Derbyshire Police Federation’s magazine, News & views, is out now and available to read online.

The shocking findings of the 2021 pay and morale survey are covered in detail along with the HMIC review of policing which calls for more investment in policing and a report which highlights the worrying number of new recruits who quit before their probation ends.

News & views also features interviews with new wellbeing lead Helen Gallear and new health and safety lead Steve Reid who both have interesting stories to tell about how they came to be in their roles.

There is also a feature on detective Steve Roberts who launched a campaign to get more life-saving defibrillators placed around Derbyshire police buildings after being diagnosed with a serious heart condition following a health scare at work.
