Tributes have been paid to Derbyshire Detective Constables Anthony Thornley and Gary Freeman on the anniversary of their deaths while on active duty.
Anthony, who was 31, and Gary, who was 36, were on CID duty when the car they were travelling in was in collision with a lorry on 19 August 1994.
Derbyshire Police Federation chair Tony Wetton said: “Anthony and Gary were dedicated officers who were hugely liked and respected.
“They made the ultimate sacrifice in serving their communities and they will not be forgotten. Our thoughts remain with their families, friends and colleagues.”
