'Seeking Mental Health Support Is A Strength, Not Weakness'

This powerful video from Brighton and Hove Albion FC, in conjunction with the Samaritans, is an important reminder of how important it is to speak up if you are struggling with your mental health.

Sussex Police Federation hopes that initiatives like this, and the STEP campaign which is aimed specifically at police officers, will encourage colleagues to ask for help.

Chair Raffaele Cioffi said: “There is no shame in struggling, but for too long stigma has kept officers from speaking up.

“This video is a vital reminder that help is there, and that seeking support is a strength, not a weakness. As a Federation, we’re committed to breaking the silence and pushing for meaningful change.”
