Emergency sanitary products to be available in all police vehicles across Sussex

The force’s Women’s Health Lead, Insp Rebecca Ostach, has been working closely with the Sussex and Surrey Joint Transport Services to provide emergency sanitary products in all police vehicles across both forces.

The products will be kept in a black plastic box in the glove compartment of each vehicle – they will be put into all vehicles within the next few weeks. 

This means there will always be sanitary products available for colleagues when they need them.

Please remember to replace the item you have used on your next shift.

Sussex Police Federation Equality Lead Andy Newman said: “It’s great to see the support being given to frontline officers. Well done to Rebecca for her work.

“Officers shouldn’t have to worry about access to sanitary products if they need them in an emergency, so we are pleased they will be available for all officers to use.”
